Mended Heart is expanding and we’re seeking a passionate AMFT called to work with children, families, and parents. 🔍 About the Position
Role: Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT)
Type: Starts with telehealth; may transition to in-person therapy in South Orange County (office location to be finalized)
Schedule: Flexible, with a goal of building to 20 clients per week
Compensation: 50% fee split per clinical session (~$50–$75 per clinical hour). Higher range available to associates with 1,500+ hours or completed EMDR training.
Start: Open immediately - we’ll wait for the right fit
Supervision: Paid weekly supervision, trauma-informed and collaborative. EMDR consultation available for those working toward EMDR Certification.
💼 What You’ll Be Doing
✨ Provide therapy for children and adolescents working through trauma, emotional regulation, and behavioral concerns
✨ Support parents through parent coaching, parenting skills, and family therapy
✨ Strengthen family systems with communication skill-building and relational repair
✨ Collaborate with caregivers, schools, and other providers to support child well-being
✨ Begin with telehealth sessions, with potential transition to in-person services in South Orange County
✨ Engage in light self-promotion on social media (with guidance), we also provide client leads
✨ Work in alignment with our values of inclusivity, authenticity, and empowerment
🧠 Who We’re Looking For
✅ Registered AMFT in good standing with the California BBS
✅ Passion for working with children, parents, and families
✅ Knowledge of or interest in parent coaching, parenting skills, and behavioral interventions
✅ Comfort working with trauma in both children and caregivers
✅ Play therapy training or experience (a plus)
✅ EMDR trained (a plus, not required)
✅ Active NPI number (must be obtained prior to seeing clients)
✅ Comfortable starting virtually and possibly transitioning to in-person sessions in South Orange County
✅ Ability to work independently and build a caseload
✅ Inclusive and respectful of all clients regardless of race, religion, political views, gender identity, or sexual orientation
✅ Financially stable for a gradual caseload build
