"From pain grows wisdom. From the heart, a new beginning. You are meant to bloom."
Therapy is an investment in your well-being, and I aim to make the financial side as clear and simple as possible.
In-Network Insurance (Individual Therapy Only)
I currently accept the following insurance plans for individual therapy:
⭐️ Aetna
⭐️ UnitedHealthcare, including Optum
✅ If you have one of the plans listed above, I can help you confirm benefits and get you scheduled based on availability.
💗 Couples therapy is private pay only.
Many insurance plans do not cover couples, or relationship counseling, and I do not bill insurance for couples sessions.
If You’re Out-of-Network
If you do not have Aetna or UnitedHealthcare/Optum, you may still be able to use your insurance through out-of-network benefits, depending on your plan.
Out-of-network benefits sometimes reimburse a portion of the session fee after you meet your deductible.
Reimbursement amounts vary widely, and your insurance company determines what they will cover.
✅ To make this easier, I can facilitate out-of-network billing through Thrizer, which helps clients submit claims and use out-of-network benefits when available.
⭐️ If you would like to use Thrizer, I can provide what you need to get set up.
⭐️ If you prefer, I can also provide documentation that may help you seek reimbursement through your plan.
Helpful Questions to Ask Your Insurance (Out-of-Network)
If you’re planning to use out-of-network benefits, here are a few questions that can clarify your costs:
✅ Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health?
✅ What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much have I met so far?
✅ What is my reimbursement rate or coinsurance for out-of-network psychotherapy?
✅ Does my plan limit the number of sessions per year?
✅ Do I need pre-authorization for outpatient therapy?
✅ Are there any requirements for claim submission (forms, diagnosis code, etc.)?
A Note About Coverage
Insurance coverage is based on medical necessity and your specific plan benefits. I cannot guarantee reimbursement, and it’s always a good idea to confirm coverage directly with your insurance provider.
If you have questions about the best way to use your benefits, I’m happy to help you think it through and choose the simplest option.
